Responsible for all work performed in the construction, operation and maintenance of the electric power distribution and transmission systems including overhead and underground lines and services, substations and transformers. Also responsible for tree trimming, prompt response to outages, storm damage assessment and repair.

Responsible for all work involved in planning, designing, testing and executing improvements to the generating plant, distribution system and related facilities. Works with customers on new service requests, line extensions, relocations and removals. Conducts energy audits. Performs skilled repair and maintenance on electrical and electronic gear and installations. Performs all work in the reading, testing, repair, maintenance, purchasing and installing of electric meters. Responsible for underground line locating, recloser and regulator reading functions.
Responsible for installation and maintenance of all computer hardware and software and related information technology functions.

Operations: Responsible for all work performed in the operation of all power generating facilities owned and/or operated by Lamar Light and Power, including steam generating plants, wind turbine farm and other miscellaneous natural gas and fuel oil generating equipment. Duties also include after hours dispatch for power outages and other utility related issues.

Maintenance: Responsible for all maintenance work performed on facilities owned and/or operated by Lamar Light and Power, including the office/warehouse complex, grounds, auxiliary equipment for the steam generating plants and wind turbine farm, vehicles and other mobile equipment. Work also includes operation and maintenance of coal handling equipment and facilities and gas field operations.

Administrative Services: Responsible for all customer service and administrative support activities, including providing information to the public, receiving and disbursing funds, preparing a variety of letters, reports and documents, processing service requests and dispatching appropriate personnel and maintaining essential utility records. Responsible for public relations, marketing activities and all human resources processes.

Accounting/Warehouse: Responsible for all accounting tasks and procedures necessary for the sound fiscal and budget management for the utility. Performs all work in the procurement and maintenance of an adequate inventory of supplies, materials and equipment needed in the warehousing operation for the utility.
