LAMAR UTILITES BOARD TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING PROPOSED RATE ADJUSTMENTS
The Lamar Utilities Board will hold a public hearing at 12:00 noon on September 29, 2020 by conference call to consider a proposed 1.4% electric rate increase to Residential, General Service Small, and General Service Large customers.
The Residential customer increase is expected to add $1.65 on a typical residential customer’s monthly bill, and would become effective January 1, 2021.
Prior to the proposed rate increase, Lamar Utilities Board participated in a Cost-of-Service rate study to ensure the financial health of the electric utility. The proposed rate increase is necessary to allow Lamar Utilities Board to cover its expenses in supplying reliable power to its residential and commercial customers.
Lamar Utilities Board encourages its customers to attend the hearing. Anyone interested in attending this hearing please call 701-802-5220, access code: 6047681#
